Kevin is a superb songwriter as well.  His song, Teach Me To Love Like That was nomintated for Bluegrass Song of the Year at the 35th Annual Dove Awards.

In 2007, he was given the Southern Gospel Music Guild's Creative Support  Award, and received the "Engineer of the Year" award at the SGN Music Awards in 2008
